Reopening Updates

The Governor approved reopening of places of worship in Phase One of his multi-phase plan. This is great news! However, it does not mean that ministry will resume as normal quite yet, as we must comply with necessary—and rather intense—restrictions. Thus said, please take note of the following:

1) Priority – Our primary focus at this point is to get the Sunday Worship Service up-and-running. Therefore, the reopening of all other small group ministries (e.g., Sunday School, Men’s Breakfast, Women’s Ministry, etc.) will be tabled for another few weeks.

2) Thursday Study – Until further notice the Thursday Night Study will continue via Zoom at 6:30pm. The Zoom Meeting ID is 874 8051 1352. We would love to see you tune in!

3) Sunday Morning Service Protocols – What should you expect if you come on Sundays throughout Phase One?

a) Our doors open at 10:15am. Outside of the worship/media team, no one will be allowed in prior to this time.

b) We are asking that everyone enter solely through the front door of the assembly, wherein you will be greeted by an usher. Said usher will direct you—based upon logistical concerns and/or social distancing regulations—to one of two areas: i.e., the Main Sanctuary or the Community Room (wherein you can participate via the two TV’s). Please treat the ushering team with respect and follow their guidance.

c) Families of the same physical household may sit together with no concern for social distancing. Differing households must remain six feet apart at all times. Unless you live with the person, please stay apart throughout Phase One. Please take your seat prior to 10:30am, as the live-stream starts promptly!

d) You must wear a mask (unless you have a medical need. For children between ages 2 and 5, the wearing of a face-covering/mask is at the discretion of the child’s parent or guardian. Children under 2 should not wear a face mask or covering.

e) Hand sanitizer will be readily available to you and your family. There are also several sinks wherein you can wash as needed.

f) Due to the impossibility of necessary social distancing—and the potential need for seating—there will be no Children’s Church or Infant/Toddler Nursery in Phase One. In fact, the Nursery will be inaccessible and cannot be used at this juncture. Parents with infants or small children may wish to avail themselves of the live-stream (which will continue as in recent weeks). If your child is not able to sit through the entirety of the service in a controlled manner, we ask that you consider worshiping with us from home until later phases.

g) We are not permitted to host a coffee/snack time before or after service. Therefore, once the service is concluded those in attendance will be dismissed. If you are going to have conversation in our parking lot, remember that the rules for social distancing still apply. Let’s be a good witness to those cars passing by!

h) Those who wish to give may do so online or upon exit, connecting with ushers who will be stationed by the two main exits (i.e., front and rear).

i) Those who wish to watch the service online may do so using the following link: https://www.facebook.com/New-Life-Barre-473239006047508/?ref=bookmarks

Clearly, this opening phase presents some obvious challenges in terms of in-person gatherings, but it is a celebrated step forward! If you would like to come, we would love to see you. If you would prefer to enjoy the live-stream, we look forward to worshiping with you digitally. In the meantime, we will scrub the building from top to bottom in preparation for Sunday. We hope to see you then!
